MATH 19A + 19B Calculus for Science, Engineering, & Mathematics

Advanced Mathematics:  ONE of the following.
AMS 5 Statistics
MATH 21 Linear Algebra
MATH 22 Calculus of Several Variables
EART 111 Mathematics in Earth Sciences

General Chemistry:  CHEM 1A + 1B/M + 1C/N

Biology:  BIOL 20A + BIOE 20B + BIOE 20C

Geology:  ONE of the following.
EART 5/L California Geology
EART 10/L Geological Principles
EART 20/L Environmental Geology

Physics:  PHYS 6A/L + 6B/M

Astronomy:  ASTR 2 Overview of the Universe (recommended) or another lower division Astronomy course.

Education:  EDUC 50 Cal Teach 1:  Science [2 units]

ADVANCED REQUIREMENTS:  10 total

Earth Science:  EART 110A/L Evolution of the Earth
EART 110B/M Earth as a Chemical System
EART 109/L Elements of Field Geology OR both EART 120/L Sedimentology and Stratigraphy + EART 150/L Structural Geology

Ocean Sciences:  OCEA 102 Ocean and Climates: Past, Present, and Future

Education:  EDUC 100C Cal Teach 2: Science
EDUC 185C Intro to Teaching Science
EDUC 185L Cal Teach 3: Intro to Teaching

Science Elective:  ONE 5 unit upper-division EART or OCEA course

Laboratory:  ONE upper-division EART or OCEA course with a 1 or 2 unit lab

Education Elective:  ONE of the following.

Disciplinary Communication (DC) Requirement:  TWO of the four required electives must be completed from courses that are part of the Eart Sciences Disciplinary Communication Curriculum:

Students in the Science Education Concentration must complete the DC requirement by taking Education 185L in addition to either Earth Sciences 109 or both Earth Sciences 120 and 150.
